POM: Can you tell us a little about yourself and what you do?
My name is Laurie Garaffa, married with 3 children and 2 grandchildren. I am a Customer Service Supervisor for a Non-Profit Credit Counseling Agency. I’m an avid runner, typically spending one to two hours running outside per day.
POM: What does personal safety mean to you?
Personal safety means that I am free to go about my everyday life without fear of personal harm to myself or my property.
POM: Why did you decide to purchase a POM?
I am a runner and sometimes find myself running alone in unpopulated areas.
POM: How does carrying the POM make you feel?
It gives me peace of mind knowing that I can alert others should I become fearful for my safety.
POM: When do you typically carry the POM?
I always have the POM with me on my keychain. I make sure that I also carry it while running.
POM: What is your favorite feature to use? Why?
Thankfully, I have not needed to use the emergency feature. My favorite feature has been the text notification alert. I like to use the text feature to let my family know when I start and finish runs so they know I’m safe.
POM: Where do you keep your POM?
I keep my POM on my keychain.
POM: How likely are you to recommend POM to a friend or family member? (1-10, 1 being least likely, 10 being highly likely)
Ten.
POM: Who do you think should know about or use the POM?
I believe the POM would be helpful to all of the running community, visiting nurses, and real estate agents to name a few.
